Dirigido pelo pernambucano Marcelo Gomes e pelo mineiro Cao Guimarães, o filme O homem das multidões foi selecionado para a mostra Panorama do Festival de Berlim. O longa-metragem, inspirado em um conto do escritor britânico Edgar Allan Poe, foi filmado em Minas Gerais e retrata a solidão vivida por um funcionário do metrô, interpretado pelo ator Paulo André (Grupo Galpão).
Marcelo Gomes também participou do Festival de Cannes com Cinema, aspirinas e urubus (2005) e do Festival de Veneza com Viajo porque preciso, volto porque te amo (2009).
Hoje eu quero voltar sozinho, do paulista Daniel Ribeiro, também foi selecionado.
