Netflix, HBO e FX lideram indicações no Critics Choice Awards 2023

As plataformas de streaming foram indicadas em 16 categorias cada. A série ‘Abbott Elementary’, do Star+, recebeu o maior número de indicações

Os indicados de televisão do Critics Choice Awards 2023 foram anunciados nesta terça-feira (6/12) pela associação que os elege. As plataformas Netflix, HBO e FX receberam 16 indicações cada uma, e Abbott Elementary, série disponível no Star+, foi indicada a todas as seis categorias de comédia. A premiação deve ocorrer em janeiro de 2023.

Favorito nas indicações, Abbott Elementary é um documentário em formato de sitcom lançado em setembro de 2021 e transmitido na TV aberta estadunidense. Ele acompanha uma equipe de documentaristas que filmam a rotina de professores de uma escola pública fictícia na Filadélfia.

No Emmy 2022, a série ganhou três das sete categorias às quais foi indicada. Neste ano, concorre, no Critics Choice, na categoria série de comédia, às estatuetas de melhor série, melhor atriz — com Quinta Brunson, que também é criadora e roteirista da produção —, melhores atores e atrizes coadjuvantes — com Chris Perfetti, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James e Sheryl Lee Ralph, que faturou o Emmy em 2021.

Better caul Saul, spin-off de Breaking Bad disponível na Netflix, ficou logo atrás da comédia, com cinco indicações na categoria série de drama — incluindo melhor série e melhor ator.

Os dramas The crown, Euphoria e House of the dragon também foram contemplados. Nomes como Zendaya, Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, Samuel L. Jackson e Sebastian Stan estão entre os indicados.

No que se refere à distribuição de indicações entre plataformas de streaming, depois de Netflix, HBO e FX, com 16 indicações, ficaram Hulu e Apple TV+, com 14 cada, e Paramount+, com 10.
